Structured cabling for data, voice, Wi-Fi and fibre

Structured cabling is the planned network of copper and fibre cables that carries a building’s data, voice and Wi-Fi — and the IP cameras, access control, IPTV and intercom that run on that network.

We design and install building cabling for data, voice, Wi-Fi and fibre, so every outlet, access point and rack is connected, labelled and ready for the systems that depend on it.

What we install

  • Data cablingCopper horizontal cabling from floor racks to workstation and device outlets.
  • Voice cablingTelephone and IP phone outlets.
  • Wi-FiCabling and access points for building wireless coverage.
  • Fibre opticBackbone links between the main room, floor racks and buildings.
  • Racks and patchingPatch panels, cable management and labelling.

How a building network is organised

Structured cabling is laid out in levels. Fibre backbone cables run from the main communications room up the riser to a rack on each floor. From each floor rack, copper cables run horizontally to the outlets, cameras and Wi-Fi access points on that floor.

Fibre is used for the backbone because it carries much higher bandwidth over long distances without interference. Copper is used for the last run because devices connect to it directly and many can be powered over the same cable (PoE, Power over Ethernet).

Typical applications

  • Residential buildings
  • Commercial towers
  • Offices
  • Hotels
  • Warehouses
